🔼 Welcome Home. A legend is coming home.

Hayward will volunteer his time in the newly-created position, working alongside head coach Thad Matta, General Manager/Director of Player Personnel Tony Bollier, and Vice President/Director of Athletics Grant Leiendecker on the program's highest-level initiatives.

Hayward will lean on his NBA experience to advise on talent evaluation and recruitment, player development, and team culture. He will serve in a mentorship role to student-athletes within the program, focusing on leadership and professional development.

🔼 Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop. For a second straight tournament, the Butler women’s golf team earned its spot on top of the leaderboard, bringing home another tournament title at this week’s Dayton Flyer Invitational.

Treva Dodd won a second straight tournament, as well, coming away with a one-shot victory at the 54-hole event. She finished the event at five-over 218 after rounds of one-under 70 and 74 Monday and the Tuesday 74 on the 5,854-yard NCR Country Club South Course in Kettering, Ohio.

As a team, the Bulldogs held a seven-shot lead after the first 36 holes. Butler was able to hold off Western Michigan and Kennesaw State Tuesday, posting a five-shot victory at 896 (+44). WMU and Kennesaw State tied for second at 901.

The Bulldogs were able to defend their team title after also winning the Dayton Flyer Invitational in 2024.

🔼 Power Pair. Sporting a three-game win streak, the Butler men’s soccer team had a pair of standouts honored this week with spots on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll.

Aiden Benitiz (two assists and a game-winning goal) and Aurie Brisco (career-high nine saves) both were recognized for their outstanding performances.

🔼 Coming Soon. With less than three weeks until the start of the 2025-26 season, the Butler women’s hoops squad gave fans a sneak peek of what’s to come at the Family Weekend open practice session this past Saturday.

Weren’t able to be there? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered.

🔼 View From The Top. For the fourth time in four fall tournaments, the Butler men’s golf squad found themselves in the top-two, earning a runner-up finish at the Purdue Fall Invitational.

The Bulldogs' Tuesday final-round score of eight-under was the best round of the day among the 15-team field. Tuesday's play moved the Bulldogs from fourth into second on the team leaderboard at 858 (-6).

Butler's Leo Zurovac tied for fifth individually at three-under 213. He carded a two-under round of 70 Tuesday on the 7,465-yard Kampen-Cosler Golf Course in West Lafayette, Ind., after Monday rounds of 72 and 71.

Freshman Marius Reiersen also had a Top 10 finish, tying for eighth at two-under 214.
