📈 STOCK UP
🔼 Finishing Touches. Prior to next Monday’s season-opener, the Butler women's basketball team will host the Franklin College Grizzlies for one final exhibition on tonight at Hinkle Fieldhouse.
Maria Marchesano, a 2005 Butler alum, returned in April and was named the 10th head coach in program history. Marchesano's 14-year head-coaching career includes 234 wins across stops at Purdue Fort Wayne (five seasons), Mount St. Mary's (four seasons), Walsh (three seasons), and Urbana (two seasons).
The Bulldog roster for the 2026-27 season features 11 newcomers, while Saniya Jackson returns for BU after leading the team in both rebounding and steals (in addition to finishing second on the team in scoring) a season ago. Her twin sister, Nevaeh, is also back for the Bulldogs.
Tipoff at Hinkle Fieldhouse is scheduled for 7 p.m.
🔼 Eye On The Prize. Butler's men's and women's cross country teams head to Pole Green Park in Mechanicsville, Va., on Friday for the 2026 BIG EAST Cross Country Championships.
The No. 26-ranked Butler men enter the meet as defending BIG EAST champions after capturing their fourth conference title in six seasons last fall. Leading the charge is reigning individual champion William Zegarski, who has earned multiple BIG EAST Athlete of the Week honors this season.
On the women's side, Butler will be led by junior Hannah Moore, who earned BIG EAST Athlete of the Week honors earlier this month after clocking a 17:09.9 at the Joe Piane Notre Dame Invitational. Ranked No. 12 in the Great Lakes Region, the Butler women will look to build momentum heading into the NCAA postseason.
Both championship races will be streamed on ESPN+.

🔼 Five Days Away. That’s all we are away from the return of Butler men’s basketball.
The ‘Dawgs are set to tip-off the 2026-27 season when Lafayette rolls into historic Hinkle Fieldhouse.
The opener marks the beginning of a new era under head coach Ronald Nored, a Butler legend who returns to his alma mater after more than a decade coaching in the NBA.
The Bulldogs return key contributors Jalen Jackson and Drayton Jones while introducing a revamped roster featuring transfers Treyson Anderson, Jordan Ellerbee and Christian Moore, along with international additions Asim Djulovic and Samu Adler.
Tip-off on ESPN+ is set for 7 p.m.
🔼 Showstopper. For the third time this season, Butler sophomore standout Addison Ash was named the BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week.
This past Saturday, Ash and the Bulldogs shutout previously unbeaten Villanova, who was one of just three teams nationally without a loss before the 1-0 defeat at the hand of Butler.
Ash made seven saves in the match to earn her sixth shutout of the season and the ninth of her career.
