🔼 Coming Soon. With the season opener right around the corner, Hinkle got its final peek at what’s to come for the Butler women’s hoops squad this season.
On Tuesday night, Butler defeated the Taylor Trojans 95-63. The Bulldogs shot 50 percent from the field and saw nine student-athletes score in the contest.
Six players reached double figures against the Trojans to pace the BU offense. Addison Baxter nearly posted a triple double recording 13 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists.
BU went inside to score 56 points in the paint and their defense turned 20 Taylor turnovers into 20 points.
🔼 One More Rehearsal. With the season opener just a week away, the Butler men’s hoops will lace ‘em up one more time in exhibition action as they are set to host in-state foe Indiana State at Hinkle tonight.
Even though this won’t count towards the official record, the Sycamores are the most played opponent in Butler’s history with the two programs meeting 127 times over the years.
Tip time is set for 7 p.m.
🔼 Digging It. With a monster weekend on the court, the Butler volleyball team is starting to peak at the right time in BIG EAST play.
Helping lead the way has been sophomore Lauren Evans, who recorded 37 digs in the ‘Dawgs two wins this past weekend, including a career-high 26 digs against St. John’s.
For her performance, she earned a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll.
Evans now has five 20+ dig performances and ranks second in the league with 350 total digs on the season.
🔼 Who Let The Dogs Out. After a weekend off, the Butler football squad is back to work this week, ready to welcome first-place Drake to town for a big time PFL showdown.
Butler is looking to avenge a tough 27-17 loss at Drake last year as the two teams vie for spots near the top of the league standings.
Kickoff at the Sellick Bowl on Saturday is set for 1 pm.
