The two teams last played at Hinkle Fieldhouse Nov. 27, 1993, a 75-71 Bulldog victory. The teams have played 12 times since that 1993 contest, eight at (now) Gainbridge Fieldhouse and four in Bloomington, Ind.
This is the first of three exhibitions for the Bulldogs, who will host Indiana State at Hinkle Sunday, Oct. 18 and travel to Ohio State for a Sunday, Oct. 25 tip.

🔼 Back In Action. Coming off its bye week, the Butler football team returns to the Sellick Bowl for a monster PFL matchup tomorrow afternoon.
Sitting at 4-1 overall and 1-0 in league play, the ‘Dawgs welcome perennial conference power San Diego to town for a 1 p.m. showdown.
It is the 29th meeting between the two schools as Butler is looking for its first win over USD since 2022.
🔼 Drawing Even. With only four spots up for grabs at next month’s BIG EAST Championship, every point is crucial.
The Butler women’s soccer team added another point to that column on Wednesday, picking up a scoreless 0-0 draw with St. John’s.
With the tie, Butler continues an unbeaten streak which is now eight matches and dates to August 30. The ‘Dawgs are now one of just five teams left unbeaten in league play.
🔼 Young Gun. After picking up her first collegiate win, Butler freshman Rachel Johnson was named the BIG EAST Women's Golfer of the Week.
Johnson picked up her first collegiate medalist honor while also leading the Bulldogs to the team title at the 2026 Butler Fall Invitational. She finished the 54-hole event at even-par 210 and carded a total of 11 birdies over the three rounds.
🔼 Mighty Maggie. Johnson wasn’t the only Butler freshman making noise for the ‘Dawgs last week.
Butler swimming standout Maggie Dahl was named the BIG EAST Female Athlete of the Week for swimming.
A freshman from Overland Park, Kansas, Dahl made her collegiate debut at the IU Indianapolis Double Dual this past weekend and swam in four events, earning BIG EAST qualifying times in three of those.
