🔼 Here.We.Go. Butler's men's and women's basketball programs tip off the 2026-27 season today with a doubleheader at historic Hinkle Fieldhouse, ushering in a new era for both teams.

The women's squad gets things started at 11 a.m. ET against Tennessee Tech in the program's annual Kids Day Game, marking the regular-season debut of head coach Maria Marchesano.

On the men's side, Butler begins the Ronald Nored era with a 7 p.m. ET matchup against Lafayette, the first-ever meeting between the two programs. The Bulldogs return key contributors Jalen Jackson and Drayton Jones, with Jackson coming off an impressive preseason in which he averaged 21 points across three exhibition games.

🔼 Southern Gentlemen. Behind a spectacular day of offense from Gabe Passini, Butler football continued its outstanding season with a commanding 27-10 road win at Presbyterian on Saturday afternoon.

Passini rushed for 162 yards and a TD to go along with 145 yards through the air and a passing TD, leading an offensive attack that piled up nearly 400 total yards.

Butler improves to 7-2 overall and 4-1 in league play and now welcome St. Thomas to the Sellick Bowl for a matchup of two teams tied for first place in the PFL standings.

🔼 Senior Salutin’. Prior to Saturday’s match, Butler men’s soccer honored seven student-athletes in senior recognition ceremonies.

During the match, the Bulldogs honored them with their play, dominating DePaul, 3-1, en route to their second victory in the past three matches. Butler built a 1-0 advantage at the half and added two more goals before the Blue Demons registered their lone tally of the evening, late in the match.

With two matches remaining, the Bulldogs are just four points behind Midwest Division leaders Akron and Creighton in the league standings.

🔼 Saturday Sweepin’. With the end of the regular season on the horizon, Butler volleyball picked up a crucial BIG EAST sweep on Saturday, rolling past Seton Hall at Hinkle Fieldhouse, 3-0 (25-21, 25-21, 25-22).

Jersey Loyer continued her outstanding season with her eight career 20-dig match, while freshman Karen Dutro led the way with a career-high 11 kills, posting her second straight 10+ kill performance.

🔼 Lacing ‘Em Up. Just over five seconds separated Butler’s William Zegarski from a second consecutive individual title at the 2026 BIG EAST Cross Country Championships this past Friday.

Zegarski narrowly missed out on defending his 2025 title, crossing the 8k line in 23:03.8, just over five seconds behind Villanova’s Bailey Habler, who captured the top spot.

The Bulldog men, ranked No. 26 in this week's USTFCCCA national coaches poll, also received All-BIG EAST performances from Graham Tomori (11th; 23:45.7) and Kyle Grove (19th; 24:11.2).
