🔼 Grand Opening. There’s starting fast and then there’s what the Butler men’s hoops team did in their season opener.
The Bulldogs scored the first 17 points of the game and never looked back in an 88-58 win over the University of Southern Indiana at Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
Both Michael Ajayi and Jamie Kaiser Jr. posted double-doubles in their respective Butler regular season debuts. Ajayi finished with 24 points, 12 rebounds and five assists for his 20th double-double of his career.
Kaiser posted the first double-double of his career with 12 points and a career-high 10 rebounds.
🔼 Fearsome Foursome. Four Bulldogs earned All-BIG EAST honors for the 2025 women's soccer season, as chosen by the BIG EAST coaches and announced by the conference office earlier this week.
Talia Sommer was selected as Co-Midfielder of the Year and landed on the First Team, while Lucia Englund landed on the Second Team.
Both Chloe Brecht and Léa Larouche earned Third Team recognition.
🔼 Poll Position. After winning the BIG EAST Championship for the fourth time in the past six seasons, Butler remained ranked No. 14 in this week's NCAA Division I Men's Cross Country National Coaches' Poll.
The Bulldogs are now preparing for the NCAA Great Lake Regional Championship in Evansville, Ind. next weekend, where they will look to punch their ticket to the NCAA Championships.
🔼 The Hall Call. Eight legends and one legendary team will forever be enshrined in Bulldog history. The Butler Athletics Hall of Fame announced its Class of 2025 this week.
The Class of 2025 includes the 1991 football team, Jenny (Esparza) Levengood (softball), Ron Griswold (football), Michael Mariscalco (men's soccer), Dale Mueller (baseball), Michele Nash (women's golf), Bill and Joanne Dugan (special service award), and Jon Hind (special service award).
This year's Hall of Fame class will be celebrated on campus Sunday, Feb. 15, 2026 in conjunction with the men's basketball game that evening against Seton Hall.
