🔼 Home For The Holidays. As the semester wraps up on campus, the Bulldogs are enjoying some time at Hinkle Fieldhouse this week with three games over a four-day span for the hoops squads.

Tomorrow night, the women’s hoops team welcomes intrastate rival Indiana State to town for a mid-week, non-conference battle. Tip time is set for 7 p.m.

On Saturday, the men host their BIG EAST opener when Providence rolls in for a 2 p.m. tip at Hinkle.

Sunday, the women close out their non-conference slate with a showdown with Eastern Illinois. Tip is set for 2 p.m.

🔼 New York State Of Mind. With former Butler standout Paige Monaghan having a big season in the NWSL, fellow Bulldog Talia Sommer decided it looked like fun and joined the professional ranks this week.

Sommer inked with Gotham FC, which won the 2025 NWSL championship and the inaugural CONCACAF Women's Champions Cup.

Recently recognized with United Soccer Coaches All-America fourth-team honors, Sommer is one of the most-accomplished players in Butler program history.

Sommer, from Tel Aviv, Israel, finished her career at Butler on several of the program's all-time career lists. She is tied for fifth with 24 assists and finished seventh with 28 goals and 80 total points. She also landed on several of Butler's single-season lists. She is tied for sixth with 29 total points in the 2024 season, and she is tied for tenth with 11 goals and seven assists in the same season. The midfielder was named 2025 BIG EAST Co-Midfielder of the Year and was an All-BIG EAST First Team honoree for three straight seasons.
