🔼 Mighty Mike. Ronald Reagan was in office. Terms of Endearment ruled the movie theaters. A gallon of gas costs $1.19.

That’s how long it had been since a Bulldog hauled in 20 rebounds in a game.

That ended on Saturday when Michael Ajayi continued his incredible season with a 19-point, 20 rebound performance to lead Butler to a thrilling 61-58 victory over Northwestern, as part of the Inday Classic at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

Jamie Kaiser Jr. was the second-leading scorer for the Bulldogs with 14 points before leaving the game in the second half with a left ankle injury.

Tip-off at Hinkle is set for 2 p.m.

🔼 On The Dot. When the ‘Dawgs needed it most, Caroline Dotsey delivered.

The junior forward poured in a season-high 25 points to lead Butler to their third straight victory, a 64-58 home defeat of Xavier on Friday evening.

She finished 9-of-15 from the floor, while grabbing eight rebounds and two assists.

Mallory Miller (11) and Lily Zeinstra (10) rounded out the Bulldogs in double figures.

🔼 Academic Aces. Four student-athletes on the 2025 Butler volleyball team – Kaylee Finnegan, Zoe McDonald, Ellery Rees, and Elise Ward– were recognized by College Sports Communicators as Academic All-District®.

The 2025 Academic All-District® Volleyball Teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. Academic All-District® honorees will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced January 13, 2026.

🔼 Class Act. The list of accolades continue to grow longer and longer for Butler soccer standout Talia Sommer.

Last week, Sommer was recognized by the United Soccer Coaches for her performances in the classroom and on the soccer field this past season. Sommer, who has a 3.94 GPA and will receive her bachelor's degree this month in Computational Neuroscience with a minor in Philosophy, was designated a member of the Scholar All-America Second Team, as well as the All-North/Central Region Team. The midfielder was previously honored with a United Soccer Coaches All-America Third Team designation for her on-field performance this past season.
