🔼 Wrecking Records. Move over Lightning McQueen, there’s a new speedster in town.

Freshman Anna Niebrugge highlighted a busy weekend for the Butler track & field program with not one, but TWO record-setting performances.

On Friday night, the Arlington Heights, Ill., native broke the program record in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.58, followed up with another record-breaker in the 200-meter on Saturday with a time of 24.26.

Two Bulldogs placed first and second in the women's 800-meter race. Poppy Healy earned first with a time of 2:11.99 and Carys Glyn-Jones received second with a time of 2:14.56. Sophomore Hannah Moore earned first place in the women's 3000-meter race with a time of 9:47.02.

On the men’s side, the Bulldogs dominated the 3000meter with Brendan Thomas leading the way with a winning time of 8:07.76. He was one of five Butler standouts in the top-seven in the event.

🔼 Grand Opening. Now that’s how you open up a season!

The Butler women’s lacrosse team fired up the offense in its season opener, overpowering Detroit Mercy on Friday afternoon in a 17-13 road victory.

Elise Latham recorded a career-high six goals, tying her career best in free position goals with four. This makes Latham tied for second in Butler's record book for goals in a single game.

🔼 Friday Night Fun. Who doesn’t love a little fun on a Friday Night?

The Butler men’s tennis team enjoyed just that, cruising to a 4-0 sweep of Marian on Friday at the Healthplex in Indianapolis. It was the ‘Dawgs second victory of the young spring season.

🔼 Runnin’ Past The Roos. A complete team effort gave the Butler softball team its first victory of the 2026 season on Saturday in Cedar Falls, Iowa.

Three pitchers combined to allow just five hits and one run, while the offense pounded out 11 hits en route to a 7-1 victory over Kansas City in the second game of the UNI Classic.

Hailey Conger and Makena Alexander both had two hits in the win, including each hitting a homerun.
