🔼 Smash Brothers. Need to win a HR Derby contest? We’ve got a guy for you.

Junior Michael Rhoades continued his torrid start to the 2026 season for Butler baseball, launching two more HRs in a 4-for-5 effort on Wednesday, leading the ‘Dawgs to a 14-10 road win at Ball State.

With 14 HRs on the year, Rhoades currently sits second nationally.

Charlie Schebler and Gunnar Duncan combined for five hits, four runs scored and three RBIs, with each hitting a HR, in the win.

🔼 Hey Now, They’re An All Star. Before even putting on a Butler uniform, incoming women’s basketball signees Joslyn Bricker and Laniah Willis are already building quite a resume in the state of Indiana.

This week, the new ‘Dawgs were named 2026 Indiana All-Stars by the IndyStar.

Bricker, the Warsaw product, poured in 24.8 points per game on 55 percent shooting while sinking 53 percent of her shots from behind the arc. Bricker averaged 6.4 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 2.4 steals per game during her senior year campaign. She helped lead her squad to a 24-3 record this season which ended in the sectional finals.

Wills helped lead Lapel to a 22-5 record in 2025-26, which saw Lapel win the 2A Regional Championship. Wills is one of three players in state history to score more than 2,000 points, as the Anderson, Ind. native totaled 2,407 points in her high school career.

🔼 And Another One. Add another line to the lengthy resume of Michael Ajayi for the 2025-26 Butler basketball season.

After earning NABC All-District Accolades earlier this week, Ajayi was named an AP All-America honorable mention selection on Tuesday evening.

Ajayi ranks fifth nationally in rebounding (11.1 per game) and fourth with 19 double-doubles on the season. In addition to leading the BIG EAST in rebounding, he is fourth in scoring (16.4 points per game) and also ranks among the conference's Top 15 in minutes played (third), field goal percentage (sixth), blocked shots (eighth), and assists (12th). Ajayi's 356 rebounds this season set a new Butler single-season record.
