🏀 WELCOME HOME

One of our own is back home at Hinkle.

On Wednesday, Butler Vice President and Director of Athletics Grant Leiendecker made the announcement that Ronald Nored, who has built an extensive coaching résumé in the NBA for more than a decade, will be the next head coach of the men's basketball program at his alma mater Butler University.

Nored will be re-introduced to the Butler and Indianapolis communities today with a noon event at Hinkle Fieldhouse that is open to the public.

A 2012 Butler graduate, Nored helped the Bulldogs to back-to-back appearances in the NCAA national championship game as the starting point guard for coach Brad Stevens and concluded his playing career by earning Academic All-America honors in 2012. Nored has been part of coaching staffs with five NBA franchises, most recently serving as an assistant coach with the Atlanta Hawks for the last three seasons.

🔼 Head Of The Class. At Butler, success isn’t just decided on the court, it’s also in the classroom and this week five ‘Dawgs were recognized for being head of the class, earning Academic All-District accolades from the CSC.

For the women, Caroline Dotsey, Saniya Jackson, Lily Zeinstra and Kennedy Langham were all honored, while Yohan Traore garnered the accolade for the men’s squad.

The 2025-26 Academic All-District® Basketball Teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The distinction requires at least a 3.5 cumulative grade point average while also competing in 90 percent of the institution's games played or must start in at least 66 percent of the institution's games.

🔼 Opportunity Knocks. The Butler lacrosse squad returns home for the first time in three weeks with an opportunity in front of them with 18th-ranked Denver rolling into town for the BIG EAST conference opener on tap.

Elise Latham, who ranks third in the league in goals (28), will look to lead the ‘Dawgs against the high-powered Pioneers.

Game time is set for 11:30 am on Saturday.
