🏀 WELCOMING PARTY

The new era of Butler Men’s Basketball is officially underway.

Last, Butler Vice President and Director of Athletics Grant Leiendecker made the announcement that Ronald Nored, who built an extensive coaching résumé in the NBA for more than a decade, is the next head coach of the men's basketball program at his alma mater Butler University.

Nored was re-introduced to the Butler and Indianapolis communities on Friday at a public news conference at Hinkle Fieldhouse.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Queens Of New York. The Butler softball team stayed atop the BIG EAST standings with a successful trip to the Big Apple, taking two of three from St. John’s over the weekend.

After splitting a pair of low scoring games on Friday, the ‘Dawgs used a huge six-run second inning in Sunday’s series finale to win a 9-8 battle and improve to 8-1 in league action.

🔼 Heating Up. Watch out folks, the ‘Dawgs are starting to kick it into high gear.

After a series victory in Milwaukee, the Butler baseball team has now won three of its past four and there’s no better time for it with BIG EAST play starting later this week.

The two teams split a Saturday doubleheader before Gunnar Duncan’s big day propelled the ‘Dawgs to an 8-7 victory in the series finale on Sunday.

🔼 Country’s Finest. That’s a way to get the spring started.

In his first outdoor action of the season, William Zegarski laced ‘em up with the best in the country at the Raleigh Relays.

Zegarski earned third-place in the men's 10,000-meter race with a time of 28:28.18. The time earned him the fourth-place spot in school history for this event and currently ranks third in the nation.

🔼 Senior Salutin’. No better way to salute the seniors than with a W.

The Butler women’s tennis team did exactly that on Friday with a 4-3 home win over Bellarmine. Chase Metcalf and Jordan Schildcrout were recognized in a pre-match ceremony, honoring them in their final home match of the season.

It was the ‘Dawgs second straight victory with the BIG EAST Tournament just a few weeks away.

🤔 BUTLER TRIVIA

It was a monster week for sophomore Gunnar Duncan who had nine RBIs in three games for the ‘Dawgs.

Prior to this past week, how many career RBIs did Duncan have in his first two years at Butler (39 games played)
