🔼 Finishing Strong. The Butler men’s hoops squad closed out the regular season in style, using a monster second half run to come away with an 81-71 victory in Chicago over DePaul on Saturday afternoon.
Scoring 28 of the first 34 points of the second half, the ‘Dawgs took a commanding lead to cruise to a win over the Blue Demons.
Leading five Bulldogs in double-figures was Finley Bizjack, who’s 19 points pushed him above 1,000 points in his three-year career at Butler. Michael Ajayi posted his 18th double-double of the season with 14 points and 11 rebounds, while Efeosa Oliogu-Elabor poured in a career-high 15 points, grabbed seven rebounds, four steals and dished out four assists.
🔼 Tourney Time. With its win in Chicago, the ‘Dawgs wrapped up their regular season. Now, it’s Tourney Time.
This week, Butler heads east to the Madison Square Garden to take on the BIG EAST Tournament gauntlet.
Butler will take on ninth-seeded Providence in Wednesday’s first round. Tip time is set for 4 p.m. on Peacock.
🔼 Dynamic Duo. Even before heading to Madison Square Garden for the BIG EAST Tournament, a pair of Bulldogs are already hauling in the hardware.
On Sunday, Michael Ajayi and Finley Bizjack both earned All-BIG EAST honors in the yearly accolades announced by the league. Ajayi earned a spot on the First Team, while Bizjack was named to the Third Team.
🔼 Raising The Bar. For the past 16 seasons, Head Coach Scott Hall has helped raise the bar for the Butler Softball program.
This past weekend, he raised it even more as the ‘Dawgs blasted their way past Western Michigan, 12-5, on Friday to secure Hall’s 350th career victory at the helm, extending his current program record.
Butler also picked up a victory on Sunday, winning the back end of a doubleheader with Lipscomb in extra innings, 6-5.
