🔼 Hardware Haul. Hopefully the Butler men’s golf squad has some room left in their golf bags because they’ve got some hardware to bring home.
The ‘Dawgs had a monster showing at the Don Benbow Spring Invitational, bringing home three trophies from the event.
Leo Zurovac took medalist honors in record-setting fashion, while Derek Tabor earned the runner-up spot on the individual leaderboard. The Bulldogs also captured the team title, carding a 54-hole team total of 826 (-14).
🔼 Three Of A Kind. After winning three of their four games last week, the Butler Baseball squad grabbed three BIG EAST accolades.
Gunnar Duncan was named the BIG EAST Player of the Week, while Brock Buckley and Grayson Bradberry earned spots on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll.
Duncan was spectacular for the ‘Dawgs, hitting .600 across three games. The sophomore recorded six hits, one home run and nine RBIs. Buckley tossed a seven-inning complete game en route to a 6-2 victory over Milwaukee, while Bradberry tossed 6.0 innings allowing only four hits and no runs while fanning five en route to a midweek win over Toledo.
🔼 Staying Home. Coach Nored is alredy starting to fill in his staff for the new era of Butler men’s basketball.
General manager Tony Bollier and assistant coach Jon Diebler will stay with the ‘Dawgs, working alongside new head coach Ronald Nored.
Bollier, who was hired by Vice President and Director of Athletics Grant Leiendecker in 2024, will continue in the general manager role in addition to transitioning from the program's director of player development into an assistant coach position. Diebler, who served on Thad Matta's Butler staff for the last four seasons, will remain with the Bulldogs as an assistant coach on Nored's staff.
🏀 A NEW ERA
The new era of Butler Men’s Basketball is officially underway.
Last week, Butler Vice President and Director of Athletics Grant Leiendecker made the announcement that Ronald Nored, who built an extensive coaching résumé in the NBA for more than a decade, is the next head coach of the men's basketball program at his alma mater Butler University.
