🔼 Flyin’ High. Heading into the final two BIG EAST series of the regular season, the Butler Softball will do so with momentum after a thrilling 7-6 mid-week walk-off win against visiting Dayton on Wednesday.
The ‘Dawgs scored one in the bottom of the fifth to tie the game, and two innings later, Kendall Graves hit a walk-off double to secure the victory.
Maren Berger provided relief and picked up the win. In 3.2 innings, she allowed just one earned run on five hits and had one strikeout.
With a series victory this weekend at DePaul, Butler could clinch one of the four postseason spots at next month’s BIG EAST Tournament.
🔼 A Growing Family. After two transfer additions earlier this week, Coach Marchesano and staff added two more pieces to the puzzle for the Butler women’s basketball program with the signings of Karina Bystry (Northern Kentucky) and Taya Ellis (Bowling Green).
Bystry averaged 14.8 points, 4.2 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.3 steals per game for the Norse last season and was named to the Horizon League All-Freshman Team. She has three years of eligibility remaining beginning with the 2026-27 season.
Ellis, a 6-1 forward from Toronto, Canada, averaged 6.5 points and 6.7 rebounds per game as a junior last season. She has one year of eligibility remaining.
🔼 Tourney Time. Coming off a win in its final tournament of the regular season, the Butler women’s golf team carries momentum into this weekend’s BIG EAST Women’s Golf Championship presented by JEEP.
The BIG EAST will crown a team champion, which gains an automatic berth to the 2026 NCAA Championship. The individual medalist also receives an NCAA Championship invitation.
Play is scheduled to begin tomorrow, at 8 a.m. ET.
