🔼 Windy City Winners. The ticket has officially been punched.

A historic victory on Friday and a gem on Sunday secured the Butler softball team’s postseason berth as the ‘Dawgs took two-of-three from DePaul over the weekend in Chicago.

In Friday’s 12-3 victory over the Blue Demons, Cate Lehner etched her name in BIG EAST history becoming the all-time hits leader in conference games.

On Sunday, it was right-hander Maren Berger who stole the show, tossing a complete game shutout in a 6-0 ‘Dawgs win.

With the series win, Butler has secured the fourth and final spot in the upcoming BIG EAST Tournament, scheduled for May 7-9 in Rosemont, Ill.

🔼 Welcoming Party. The Butler women’s hoops family continued to grow over the weekend as the ‘Dawgs officially welcome two of the newest members with the signing of Destiny Macharia and Sage Miskel.

Macharia played for Coach Marchesano last season at IPFW, appearing in all 34 games as a true freshman. The 5-6 guard averaged 3.3 points per game as a freshman and will have three years of eligibility left for the ‘Dawgs.

Miskel, a member of the class of 2026 from Whitefish Bay, Wis., is a 5-6 point guard who arrives at Butler after helping lead Whitefish Bay High School to a 2026 WIAA Division II state championship, the first in the school's history. She was a four-year letter winner and boasts a high school career record of 83-24. During the 2025-26 season, Miskel averaged 17.3 points, 6.9 rebounds, 3.4 steals and 2.4 assists per game.

🔼 The Final Push. The Butler women’s golf team held steady in fourth place as Sunday's second round of the 2026 BIG EAST Women's Golf Championship at the Callawassie Island Club featured bouts of wind and rain.

Butler's team score improved by 12 strokes compared to Saturday's opening 18 as the Bulldogs shot an eight-over 296 Sunday.

Treva Dodd continues to pace the Bulldogs as she is currently tied for sixth at four-over 148. She shot a 73 (+1) Sunday, a round that included four birdies. Senior Kelli Scheck is also among the Top 10 after matching Dodd's 73 Sunday. Scheck is tied for eighth at 149 (+5).

🔼 And Another One. Lining up against some of the best competition in the region, Butler track & field freshman Anna Niebrugge continued her incredible debut season for the ‘Dawgs.

Niebrugge captured yet another school record with a time of 23.92 in the women’s 200-meter to highlight the weekend for Butler.

On the men's side, Edward Mumford earned a first-place finish in the men's high jump, while Ryan Elston earned a second-place finish in the men's 800-meter.
