🔼 MIghty Makena. For the third time this year, Butler softball standout Makena Alexander was named the BIG EAST Player of the Week after a monster week at the plate for the ‘Dawgs. In addition, teammate Maren Berger was named to the Weekly Honor Roll.

Alexander went 7-for-13 with four runs scored and six RBI, contributing a double and home run, as Butler went 3-1 this week. She registered at least one hit and one RBI in every outing of the BIG EAST series versus DePaul.

Berger owned a 1.26 ERA and 3-0 record with seven strikeouts over 16.2 innings of work in the circle for the Bulldogs.

🥎 Recapping The Award-Winning Performances

🔼 Clipping Their Wings. The Butler Baseball team rode a trio of hurlers to a 3-0 midweek win over the Falcons of Bowling Green on Tuesday afternoon.

Jack Hagen, Ian Regal and Alex Kanipe limited Bowling Green to just four hits and no runs on the day, while striking out three in the victory.

Offensively, the ‘Dawgs did all their scoring in the seventh, plating three runs to help earn the win.

🔼 Top-Five Treva. Sophomore standout Treva Dodd wrapped up a breakout second season with the Butler women’s golf program with a top-five finish at the 2026 BIG EAST Women’s Golf Championship.

Dodd shot a final-round 76 to complete the 54-hole event with a score of eight-over 224.

The Bulldogs finished fourth on the team leaderboard, holding that position at the end of each of the three days. Butler's total of 912 (+48) featured a second-round 296 sandwiched between rounds of 308 both Saturday and Sunday.

🔼 Sideline Addition. Head Coach Maria Marchesano added a familiar face to join her on the sidelines with the Butler women’s hoops team.

On Monday, she announced the hiring of Steven Asher as Butler's Associate Head Coach. Asher spent the past five seasons in the same role at Purdue Fort Wayne with Marchesano.

This past weekend, the Butler Softball team broke yet another record, setting a new single-season record for team RBIs, now sitting at 234 for the season.
