🐶 And much more!
📈 STOCK UP
🔼 Walkin’ It Off. The Butler softball team stayed atop the BIG EAST standings in dramatic fashion on Thursday.
After dropping an extra-inning game early on Thursday, the ‘Dawgs responded with a walk-off win of their own, taking a 6-5 victory from visiting Creighton, who is one-game back of Butler in the league standings.
Hailey Conger and Kayla Preiss each had four hits on the day, and the pair combined for seven RBIs. Conger hit the bases-loaded walk-off single in the eighth inning of game two.
🔼 Not Cooling Off. While the temperatures might have dropped a bit on the East Coast, it didn’t cool off the Butler baseball team who picked up its fourth win in the past five games with an 8-6 road win at Villanova on Thursday night.
Connor Sackett and Gavin Gilmore led the offensive attack for the ‘Dawgs, combining for four hits and seven RBIs on the day.
On the mound, Grayson Bradberry had another solid outing, tossing 5.0 innings, allowing just five hits and three earned runs while picking up his third win of the season.
🔼 Getting Defensive. The ‘Dawgs have a new leader on the defensive side of the ball.
Head Coach Kevin Lynch has announced the hiring of Jared Heck as the Butler defensive coordinator heading into the 2026 season. A native of Pittsburgh, Pa., Heck brings a wealth of defensive expertise and a proven track record of developing elite secondary units to the Bulldogs' sideline.
🔼 Among The Elite. The Butler men's program is in the running for the John McDonnell Program of the Year awarded by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. The Bulldogs are currently ranked 16th out of 21 teams who qualify for the award.
The USTFCCCA Program of the Year Award is granted annually to the most outstanding cross country/track & field programs in each of the NCAA's three divisions, the NAIA and the NJCAA for each gender in those levels.
🔼 Top-5 Treva. Another tournament. Another strong showing from the Butler women’s golf squad.
Earlier this week, the Bulldogs claimed a third-place finish at the Colonel Classic, leaning on Treva Dodd's Top 5 performance. Dodd finished fourth on the individual leaderboard at 11-over 227. She fired rounds of 73 and 79 Monday and a three-over 75 in Tuesday's final round.
