🔼 Super Sweepin’. With only two BIG EAST series remaining on the regular season schedule, the Butler Baseball team has put themselves in a position to fight for a postseason berth after a monster series sweep over Seton Hall this past weekend.

It was a complete team effort as the ‘Dawgs picked up victories of 8-3 (Friday), 15-6 (Saturday) and 9-2 (Sunday).

The series sweep of the Pirates sets up a HUGE home series this upcoming weekend against Xavier, who currently sits two games ahead of Butler in the fourth and final spot in BIG EAST Tournament later this month.

🔼 Finishing Strong. No better time to gain momentum than heading into the postseason.

That’s exactly what the Butler Softball team will do this week after the ‘Dawgs took two-of-three from Providence over the weekend and now enter this week’s BIG EAST Tournament having won seven of their past nine games.

Butler won Friday’s game 4-3 and then clinched the series on Sunday with a 4-1 victory. Now the ‘Dawgs will turn around and play the Friars in the opening round of the BIG EAST Tournament on Thursday afternoon in Rosemont, Ill.

🔼 Earning His Invite. This past season, Michael Ajayi made an immediate impact with the App State men’s basketball program.

Now, he’s hoping to do the same at the next level as late last week, he earned an invitation to the NBA G-League Combine.

In his lone season with the ‘Dawgs, Ajayi earned All-BIG EAST, All-District and All-American accolades after ranking fifth in the country in rebounding (11.1 per game) and fourth with 19-19 double-doubles. He finished fourth in the BIG EAST in scoring at 16.4 points per game and set a single-season program record for total rebounds with 356.

The G-League Combine will run from May 8-10 in Chicago.

🔼 Runnin’ Wild. Two of our own blistered the road this past weekend in Indianapolis.

Butler alum Jesse Hamlin and assistant coach Mikayla Reed each posted Top 15 finishes in the USATF 5K Championships on Saturday morning.

Hamlin finished eighth in the men's division with a time of 13:37, while Reed placed 13th in the women's race with a time of 15:42.

🤔 BUTLER TRIVIA
