🏈 COUNTIN’ THE DAYS: 7️⃣1️⃣ DAYS

Throughout the summer, we will be counting down the days
to the return of Butler Football this fall. The Bulldogs will
host Georgetown College on August 29 at 1 p.m.

The date: Nov. 4, 1989
The opponent: St. Ambrose

In the 1989 season finale, Butler football legend Steve Ambrose lit up the ground in a 56-28 Bulldogs victory over St. Ambrose to help BU finish 7-2-1 for the season.

Ambrose piled up 27️⃣1️⃣ yards in the game, which marked a then-program record for most yards in a single game. He also set the single-game record for most rushing TDs with six, a mark that still remains to this day.

The record of 27️⃣1️⃣ yards stood for five seasons until Arnold Mickens piled up three games of 280+ yards during the 1994 campaign.

🔼 Mark ‘Em Down. The Butler women's basketball team and head coach Maria Marchesano have announced four more home games for the month of November.

After opening the season on Nov. 2 in a previously-announced game against Tennessee Tech, BU will then continue the opening week of the regular season by hosting Lipscomb Thursday, Nov. 5.

BU will take on North Dakota State at Hinkle Fieldhouse on Nov. 12 before hosting the Kent State Golden Flashes on Nov. 18. Butler will conclude its November home contests with a Sunday tip against Eastern Michigan on Nov. 22.

Marchesano enters her first season leading the women's basketball program at her alma mater. Marchesano's 14-year head coaching career includes 234 wins across four stops, with the five most recent seasons at Purdue Fort Wayne. She was a four-year letterwinner at Butler, graduating in 2005.

🔼 Let’s Link Up. Butler men's golf and coach Colby Huffman have announced the Bulldogs' 2026-27 schedule, a challenging slate that features 12 events leading up to the 2027 BIG EAST Men's Golf Championship.

The only home event of the season is scheduled for March 29-30 at the Bulldogs' home Highland Golf Club with the Don Benbow Butler Spring Invitational.
