Throughout the summer, we will be counting down the days
to the return of Butler Football this fall. The Bulldogs will
host Georgetown College on August 29 at 1 p.m.

The 196️⃣1️⃣ Butler Bulldog football team was a machine.

The ‘Dawgs went a perfect 9-0 on the year, including 6-0 in conference games, to capture the Indiana Collegiate Conference Championship. For the season, Butler outscored the opposition, 251-65.

QB Phil Long won his third consecutive ICC Championship for the ‘Dawgs and went a combined 26-1 as a starter in his three years at Butler.

Long, halfback Larry Shook, and tackle Don Benbow won first-team spots on the 1961 All-ICC football team.

🔼 Going Global. There’s nothing like wearing your home country and competing against some of the world’s best.

That’s exactly what incoming women’s hoops standout Judit Valero will be doing next week.

Over the weekend, Valero was named to the U21 FIBA 3×3 roster for her home country of Spain. She will compete at the FIBA 3×3 Youth Nations League on July 5 in Bucharest, Romaina.

🔼 Sneak Peek. Good news ‘Dawgs fans, you don’t have to wait until November to get a sneak peek of head coach Maria Marchesano’s new Butler women’s hoops squad.

On Friday, the ‘Dawgs announced that they will welcome Franklin to Hinkle Fieldhouse for an exhibition contest in advance of the 2026-27 regular season. 
 
The game in Indianapolis is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 28. The tip time for the match-up will be announced at a later date.
