In 1987, one of the all-time greats strapped on his pads for the first time with the ‘Dawgs in defensive All-American Chuck Orban.
Orban helped lead Butler to an 8-1-1 record and a Heartland Collegiate Conference championship.
During the next four years, Orban went on to pile up 487 career tackles, which still holds as the program record.
📈 STOCK UP
🔼 Jacked Up. It’s been quite a professional debut for Butler alum Jack Moronek.
Two months into his first season in the Washington Nationals organization, Moronek leads his Fredericksburg team and ranks fourth in the Carolina League with a .320 batting average, while racking up seven doubles, three triples and six HRs.
In April, Moronek put together a 16-game hitting streak, which still ranks among the longest in all the minor leagues so far in 2026.
Of his 36 games played this year, the former ‘Dawg has at least one hit in 29 games.

🔼 In Good Company. Next Wednesday at historic Hayward Field, William Zegarski will toe the line in the 10,000m at the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Ore.
When he does that, Butler will be among elite company as one of just four schools to run in six consecutive NCAA Finals in the men’s 10,000m.
Day 1 coverage next week will be featured on ESPN2 beginning at 8 p.m.
Don't miss out on the best way for your young Bulldog fan to be a part of the action every game!
