On Tuesday, the NBA announced that the Emirates NBA Cup 2026 Championship will be played at Butler’s iconic Hinkle Fieldhouse.  The winner-take-all game is scheduled for Friday, Dec. 11 during the 2026-27 NBA season and will stream exclusively on Prime Video.

The selection of Hinkle Fieldhouse reflects the NBA's multiyear vision to bring the Championship to distinctive stages that honor the sport's history while connecting with audiences around the world.

For nearly a century, the 9,100-seat Hinkle Fieldhouse has stood among the most recognizable venues in basketball.  It also has a longstanding connection to the NBA, serving as home to NBA teams during the league's early years.  Most recently, the WNBA's Indiana Fever played select home games at the arena during the 2022 season.

🔼 Country’s Finest. Before Samu Adler arrives on campus to join the Butler Basketball program, he’s got some business to take care of.

Adler will first represent his country once again as a member of the Finland National Team. He is a member of the roster that is expected to include fellow countryman and NBA All-Star Lauri Markkanen.
 
Finland will play 2027 FIBA World Cup qualifying games against Hungary (July 3 in Helsinki) and France (July 6 in Pau). Those three teams and Belgium comprise Group G of the European Qualifying. The top three teams in each group will advance to the Second Round, where they will battle it out for the 12 tickets reserved for European teams at Qatar 2027. Finland has already secured a spot in the second round of European Qualifying.

🏀 More On Adler’s Week Ahead

🔼 Let’s Link Up. The Butler women’s golf team will be hitting the links for 12 events during the 2026-27 season.

This week, Coach Christie Cates and the ‘Dawgs unveiled its full slate, which 11 tournaments leading up to the 2027 BIG East Championship next April.

⛳️ A Look At The Full Slate

Throughout the summer, we will be counting down the days
to the return of Butler Football this fall. The Bulldogs will
host Georgetown College on August 29 at 1 p.m.

Some herald the 195️⃣9️⃣ Butler Bulldog football team as the “Greatest Bulldog Team Of All-Time".

As one of only 14 undefeated teams in the entire country in 195️⃣9️⃣, the Bulldogs finishd 6-0 in the Indiana Collegiate Conference and captured their second consecutive ICC Championship.

Coached by Tony Hinkle, the Bulldogs outscored their opponents 255 to 66.
