🔼 Super Sommer. Butler’s Talia Sommer’s success is far from limited to just the soccer pitch.

Recently, the BIG EAST Conference announced the winners of the 2024-25 BIG EAST Sport Excellence Awards, which recognize academic and athletic achievement as well as community service. Sommer, a Neuroscience major with a 3.94 GPA, was designated the Sport Excellence Award winner for BIG EAST women's soccer.

The Sport Excellence Awards are given to one student-athlete in each BIG EAST-sponsored sport based on academic credentials, athletic accolades or performances and volunteer service to the community. Student-athletes who have attained junior academic standing and a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.00 are eligible. The winners are chosen by the BIG EAST Faculty Athletics Representative Council.

🔼 Head Of Class. If all the softball programs around the country entered a classroom, the Butler Bulldogs would be sitting in the front row.

Recently, the Nation Fastpitch Coaches Association has revealed its Easton Top 10 GPAs for Division I collegiate softball for the 2024-25 academic year. The rankings and honors recognize the academic prowess of softball teams across the Association's membership categories.

Butler finished in the second spot with a 3.809 cumulative team GPA, which includes every student-athlete on the roster.

🔼 Speedy and Smart. Not only are these Bulldogs fast, but they’re smart too!

Recently, the BIG EAST Conference announced the 22 teams that have been recognized with 2024-25 Team Academic Excellence Awards for compiling the highest collective grade-point averages in each conference sport.

The Bulldogs took the top honor in both indoor and outdoor women's track and field. Each program posted a 3.748 GPA.

⏱️ COUNTDOWN TO KICKOFF: 1️⃣9️⃣ DAYS

A two-time PFL honoree, redshirt junior WR Ethan Loss is ready for a big season on the gridiron for the Bulldogs.

Over the past two seasons, Loss has played in all 23 games with 16 starts.

He’s piled up 74 catches for 1,085 yards and eight TDs, including a career-best six last fall for the Bulldogs.
