🔼 Making The List. The holiday season is still months away, but a pair of ‘Dawgs already have their names etched on a list.

The United Soccer Coaches recently announced its NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Players to Watch lists for the 2025 intercollegiate season. Butler's Talia Sommer was named to the Midfielders to Watch list, while Josemir Gomez represents the men's team on the Forwards to Watch List.

🔼 Welcome To The Fam. Looking for a sixth-straight BIG EAST postseason tournament appearance, the Butler softball program added another arm to the stable this weekend.

Head Coach Scott Hall announced the addition of right-handed pitcher Maren Berger from Utah State for the upcoming 2026 season.

🔼 Earning Accolades. She may no longer be a member of the Butler women’s soccer program, but she’s still earning accolades.

Former Bulldog Anna Pierce was recently chosen as the female winner of the 2024-25 BIG EAST Michael Tranghese Postgraduate Leadership Award.

Pierce is the first Butler student athlete to receive this honor. She is pursuing a PhD in Clinical Psychology at West Virginia University in the fall. Vizzard is the seventh Seton Hall student-athlete to earn the award. He has applied for Spring 2026 enrollment to the Cooper Medical School at Rowan University.

The awards are given to one male and one female student-athlete from a BIG EAST-sponsored sport who have been admitted to a degree-granting or professional program for the following academic year and who have demonstrated leadership through excellence in academic credentials, athletic performance and depth of commitment to service within the institution or the community.

⏱️ COUNTDOWN TO KICKOFF: 1️⃣2️⃣ DAYS

A veteran presence in Butler’s defensive backfield this fall will be donning #1️⃣2️⃣ as Steven Stephany is back for his redshirt junior season with the ‘Dawgs.

Stephany has played in 18 games over the past two seasons, racking up 40 tackles, two INTs and four pass break-ups.

The Lafayette, Ind. native started three games last fall and is looking to step into a regular role in 2025 for the ‘Dawgs.
