🔼 Home Sweep Home. Now that’s how you open up a season!
The Butler volleyball squad opened up its 2025 campaign in grand fashion, sweeping through the Big Dawg Kickoff with victories over Evansville (3-1), Purdue Fort Wayne (3-2) and Middle Tennessee State (3-0).
With 44 kills in the three victories, Alaleh Tolliver was named the Tournament MVP for the weekend.
Tolliver, Elise Ward, and Zoe McDonald headlined the All-Tournament Team for the Bulldogs.

🔼 Doing Her Thing. For four years, Paige Monaghan dominated the BIG EAST for the Butler University women’s soccer team.
Six years after being drafted, she’s still doing her thing at the pro level and this weekend, delivered a clutch goal for the Utah Royals FC of the NWSL to help guide her squad to a 2-1 win on Saturday evening.
It was her first goal of the 2025 season and her 16th career goal in her seventh NWSL season.

🔼 Double-Digit Dawg. Former Butler standout Ryan Pepiot joined an exclusive club over the weekend, becoming just the third former ‘Dawg to ever reach 10+ wins in a single MLB season.
The right-hander tossed five shutout innings in a Saturday afternoon win at Washington to grab his career-high 10th victory of the year.
With his six strikeouts on Saturday, Pepiot pushed his career-high in strikeouts to 155, becoming the first Butler alum to reach 150+ strikeouts in a single season.

🔼 Opening Act. Battling one of the premier programs historically at the FCS level, the Butler football squad went toe-to-toe with Northern Iowa in Saturday’s season opener, but ultimately, a strong second half by the Panthers led them to a 38-17 defeat of the ‘Dawgs.
Quarterback Reagan Andrew accounted for both Butler touchdowns – one by air and one by ground – throwing for 189 yards while running for 75.
