📈 STOCK UP
🔼 Grand Opening. The Butler men’s golf program started their season in style, taking the team title at the 2025 Golden Grizzlies Intercollegiate hosted by Oakland University.
Butler started Sunday's final round with a seven-shot advantage and extended that behind a two-over 286. That was the best round of the day and followed Saturday totals of 287 and 284. The Bulldogs' total of 857 (+5) was 11 shots better than runner-up Toledo (868). Cleveland State finished third at 880. There were 12 teams in the field.
All five Bulldogs in the line-up finished among the Top 20 in the field. Leo Zurovac led the way, tying for third at one-under 212. After a pair of even-par 71s Saturday, Zurovac shot a final-round 70 Sunday.
🔼 Getting Defensive. A strong defensive effort and a 90-yard kickoff return for a touchdown by Ethan Loss propelled Butler to a 16-7 win over Hanover Saturday afternoon at Alumni Stadium in Hanover, Ind.
The Butler defense limited Hanover to 158 total yards on 57 total offensive plays, utilizing seven sacks to force punts on seven Hanover possessions while two others ended on downs.
Loss, who entered the weekend tenth in FCS in all-purpose yards, totaled 203 yards on the day – 108 on kick-off returns (including the 90-yard touchdown), 68 yards on four catches, and 27 yards on four carries.
🔼 Drawing Even. The Butler women’s soccer team never trailed through 89 minutes on Sunday against Drake, but a late goal by the visitors led to a 1-1 draw for both squads.
Butler got a goal from Norah Jacomen in the 24th minute and held a commanding lead in shots through the first half of play. Drake turned up the pressure the entire second half and finally eliminated the deficit with a tying goal in the final seconds.
🔼 STATEment Made. The Butler volleyball squad rolled past in-state rival Indiana State, 3-0, on Saturday for their fifth win of the season.
Alaleh Tolliver unleashed 19 kills to lead the Bulldogs, while Elise Ward tallied a double-double with 12 kills and 12 digs in the victory.
