🔼 Conference Clashin’. A new season arrives tonight at Hinkle Fieldhouse as the Butler volleyball squad is set to open BIG EAST play.
The ‘Dawgs begin with two of the top six teams in the preseason poll starting with a Friday night showdown against Villanova at 7 p.m.
Saturday, the Hoyas of Georgetown roll into Hinkle to wrap up the opening conference weekend with a 6 p.m. tilt.
🔼 Helmet Huntin’. Tomorrow, Butler football opens Pioneer Football League play with a trip to Valparaiso for the annual Battle for the Hoosier Helmet.
This year marks the 86th meeting in the rivalry that dates back to 1927. Butler has won four straight meetings, including a 27-20 win in Indianapolis last season. The ‘Dawgs lead the all-time series 55-30.
Seven of the previous 10 meetings have been decided by 10 points or less.
Kickoff from Valpo is set for 2 p.m. ET on ESPN+.
🔼 Drive For Five. The Butler women’s soccer team will be carrying plenty of momentum into the opening weekend of BIG EAST play.
Sporting a four-game win streak, the ‘Dawgs are set to square off with Marquette at the Sellick Bowl tomorrow night in the conference opener for both sides.
Butler has outscored its past four opponents by a 16-2 tally and will look to continue their strong play against the Golden Eagles
